– EA Mobile boss Frank Gibeau Speaking to GamesIndustry.biz, EA Mobile boss Frank Gibeau says that Apple’s new iPhones stand up to next-gen consoles — and that the company will release a mobile game using its Frostbite engine, which powers games like Battlefield, “soon.” The new phones in the iPhone 6 line were revealed yesterday; the larger of the two, the iPhone 6 Plus, has a 1080p screen. Both new phones have an upgraded processor. Metal is the name of Apple’s new graphics rendering tech set to launch alongside iOS 8. Engine provider Unity has announced plans to support Metal. Unity CEO David Helgason told Gamasutra that his team has been testing “a really complex mobile game one of our customers did that really pushed the technology… during development it was at 10 frames per second.
